Mar. 1995 (16th) Tokyo Japan, 空気の軸流中での、平滑面を持つ回転球の周りの流れのパターンの可視化を、垂直風洞の中の低レイノルズ数での噴霧法によって行った。球径は38mmであり、実験は主流の風速1m/s以下で、回転数は1800rpm以下で行った。きのこに似た断面を持つ螺旋渦が、回転球の後流に発生するのが認められた。また、球の周りの螺旋渦は、静止流体中でも明瞭に可視化できた。, Flow patterns around a rotating sphere with smooth surface in axial air flow were visualized by smoke technique at low Reynolds number range in a vertical wind-tunnel. The sphere has a diameter of 38 mm, and the experiments were carried out for main airflow velocity up to 1 m/s and rotating maximum speed of 1,800 rpm. It was found that the spiral vortices with mushroom type sectional forms were generated in the wake of the rotating sphere.
