Numerical methods employed in the present research are composed of the higher-resolution shock capturing schemes in space difference based on the fourth-order compact MUSCL (Monotonic Upstream Schemes for Conservation Laws) TVD (Total Variation Diminishing) scheme coupled with an efficient approximate Riemann solver, and the maximum second-order accurate implicit schemes. Some typical calculated results are shown. The first case is the unsteady transonic flow problem through a turbine cascade tunnel. The second case is the unsteady transonic flow around NACA airfoil at high angle of attack, and the third case is unsteady hypersonic shock/shock interference flow known as the Type 4 shock heating problem.
