It yields the turbulent energy budget around the inner rod. Comparisons with the results of DNS (Direct Numerical Simulation) for the turbulent channel flow reveal that all budget terms near the wall of the inner rod are smaller than those of the channel flow, while both are approximately the same near the outer wall.
