The three dimensional Euler equations are discretized spatially by a cell-centered finite volume formulation, in which the inviscid fluxes are evaluated using a highly accurate upwind scheme based on the Roe's approximate Riemann solver. A new time-linearization of the inviscid fluxes evaluated by the Roe's approximate Riemann solver is presented in detail. No approximate factorization is introduced, and unfactored implicit equations are solved by a pointwise relaxation method. Numerical examples are presented for the inviscid flows through a transonic duct and a diagonal flow impeller. The present scheme was found to be stable at CFL (Courant Friedrichs Lewy) numbers of over 10 (exp
