However, the research and development was limited to fundamental experiments to confirm the noise control concepts or theories whereas the requirement of practicing those technologies is increasing more than ever. To advance the practical aspects, the noise evaluation technology as well should be enforced since appropriate application of noise control to aircraft engines needs sufficient information on noise sources. Noise evaluation technology consisting of source localization and modal decomposition helps to obtain the acoustic characteristics of the radiated noise.
