ITBL (Information Technology-Based Laboratory) project has been started in the fiscal year 2000, aiming at the realization of virtual research laboratories on the high speed network connecting the computer resources such as supercomputers, graphical workstations, databases and so on. In the project, National Aerospace Laboratory of Japan is in charge of developing a collaborative simulation system for aerospace engineering. NAL is constructing three kinds of software as ITBL applications, UPACS (Unified Platform for Aerospace Computational Simulation) - CFD environment for aerospace applications, distributed analysis server, and database for CFD validation. In this paper, the usefulness of ITBL environment for aerospace community and the three applications NAL is developing are explained. |
