The temporal Nusselt numbers are found to be in proportion to the power of the temporal Rayleigh number, whose exponent is 0.2-0.4 for various choice of the parameters associated with rheology, heat capacity of the mantle and core, and internal heating, unless the bottom thermal boundary disappears. The bottom boundary layer disappears, when the rate of cooling is large. Using the obtained relationship, we calculate the thermal history of the mantle and the core backward in time based on the parameterized convection theory. The results of both models are in good agreement, if the internal heating is small and the thermal boundary layer exists.
