The paddle employs two important technologies. One is a glass type space solar sheet (G-SSS) and the other is curved solar panel. G-SSS utilize lightweight and high efficiency thin-film solar cells. Additionally, the panel is formed of curved surface for improving an out-of-plane stiffness of G-SSS. These technologies open the way for realizing the lightweight solar panels with high specific power.
