The purpose of the mission is to demonstrate an SOI-FPGA and JAXA qualified EEE parts so that we promote the use of them. The SOI-FPGA under development by CNES/Atmel and JAXA/HIREC is reconfigurable SRAM type and has 450k gates using SOI (Silicon on Insulator) technology. We have conducted on-orbit operation of SOFIE for one year since the launch and their functional stability has been confirmed.
