In this study, the applicability of the domestic QCM system to the on-orbit material tests was assessed. The QCM developed for a contamination monitor aboard SDS-4 spacecraft was used on this purpose. The atomic oxygen induced degradation of polyimide film formed in a sensor crystal was evaluated with this QCM system. It was made clear that the temperature and incident angle dependences of the atomic oxygen-induced polyimide erosion was successfully evaluated with this QCM system, even though the electromagneticinterference from the laser-induced oxygen plasma was
