Due to deterioration, the exhaust system was replaced, as well as other equipment, in 1988. This paper summarizes the replacement of this system. The new system consists of two exhausters, a piping system, valves, a control system, etc. The pole change induction motor is used to drive each screw type compressor, and the total capacity of evacuation is changed in four steps. (5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 20,000 cu m/h) This exhaust system is controlled by the sequencer linked to the main blower of the transonic wind tunnel so that the control of wind velocity and tunnel pressure becomes easier and move responsive. The adoption of a variable speed induction motor and four step manoeuvering of the two exhausters are contribute to energy
