In this study, an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) using fiber optic gyros (measurement range: +/- 100 deg/s, accuracy: +/- 1 percent FS) was developed for dynamic wind tunnel tests and installed on the control system of the model to measure both angular rates about three axes of the model and accelerations along three axes. In this paper the outline of the fiber optic gyro, the calibration test and the dynamic wind tunnel tests for the IMU are described. In conclusion the IMU was used effectively on the control system of the spaceplane
