Tested specimens were centrally circular-hole-notched and made of a carbon/thermo-plastic composite (AS-4/PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone), APC-2) material. The mechanical properties investigated were static tensile and compressive strengths, S-N (nominal repeated maximum Stress-Number of repetitions) relationships for stress ratios R = 0 and R = -1, fatigue life distributions, fatigue damage growth, and residual static strength after fatigue tests. Especially, fatigue life data of the long life range by the 10(exp 7) cycles were collected in the fatigue life test.
