This wind tunnel is capable of producing a 25-mm hypersonic rarefied core flow with a Mach number greater than 10 and a Knudsen number greater than 0.1. However, the temperature of nitrogen gas becomes lower than 50 K in the test section. Hence, in this work we first investigate the effect of N2 condensation in HRWT so as to find out the necessity of a heater activation.
