The proteins or enzymes used include fowl albumen lysozyme, horse skeletal muscle myoglobin, Pseudomonas aeruginosa omega-amino acid: pyruvic acid aminotransferase, spiderweb fungal lipase, and human insulin. The stationary batch method was used for crystallization. Based on its principle, a closed system polycarbonate vessel for enzyme crystallization was made as a space experiment device. Five of the six protein samples, except for human insulin, provided crystallized samples. Four of the five samples were single crystals. Lysozyme (pH 4.5) and omega-amino acid: pyruvic acid aminotransferase grew to crystallographically good and large single crystals.
