For Single Input Single Output (SISO) systems, the problem of input estimation using Kalman filter is examined. Since the problem is different from an ordinary Kalman filter problem, it is first modified to an ordinary Kalman filter problem, and the input estimation accuracy is then calculated from the measurement accuracy through the Riccati equation. The input accuracy for an integrator system is analyzed, and a sinusoidal input is estimated using the simulated output of an integrator
