The former is made from all commercial parts i.e. Intel Celeron 300A CPUs, SD-RAM (Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) 128 MB memory boards and Linux OS. An Ethernet with a 100BASE-TX card that has a message rate of 100 Mbit per second is used for communication between each unit. The MPICH (Message Passing Interface) library uses a message-passing interface. Some kinds of parallel programs have already been developed using the QR (least square) methods, the LU decomposed method, and a finite volume method for use in a parallel computer.
