This type of mode should be taken into consideration for flutter analysis, because flutter can be critical in the launch phase. In this experiment a sting support system with controllable pitching rigidity was built and tested in a transonic wind tunnel, resulting in a pitching mode flutter. This flutter mode was also recognized in flutter analysis using the DPM (Doublet-Point Method).
