Toyama International Conference Center), Toyama Japan, In the past study, the author investigated a supersonic flow on a slow ascent and uncovered the existence of two start points of a shock wave in the flow field from a theoretical point of view. In this article, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses are conducted on such flow field in order to investigate the existence from a practical view point. From the information of shockwaves, obtained from the shock detection algorithm with the compression wave exclusion filter, two start points can be certainly observed in the flow field. On the other hand, there are some differences between the theoretical and numerical result on the position of the start point.
