By using a space station this system can acquire, process, and report world-wide information on oceanic conditions in real time. The sensor system of the RTRSOC is composed mainly of optical and microwave large aperture sensors; such a sensor system is realized only in the space station. A high speed on-board data processing system is indispensable for real time image processing and analysis.
