But, it was not easy to calculate the flow around an automobile with a separated flow, because of unstability of calculation. The effects of the rear-spoiler on a 2-dimensional model of an automobile were simulated using the third-order upwind differencing scheme. The computational results show good agreement with results of wind tunnel tests.
