Finite difference scheme (upwind, power and QUICK) on the calculation of some laminar channel flows with body forces were examined. Computations were conducted for laminar flows in a square duct rotating around a perpendicular axis. Comparisons were made for some important results such as velocity distribution, secondary flow pattern and friction coefficient. The results indicated that the upwind scheme shows a large numerical diffusion but the power scheme gives reasonable results. |
