The new method has many advantages, the most outstanding of which is the capability of calculating the effects of cooling air on various parameters of turbine performance in a simple manner. Various functional relationships, including cooling air flow rate and change of Row path area etc., are derived for the two-stage turbine employed as the example turbine to show the calculation procedure of the present method. The method was also compared with available experimental data on single-stage tur- bines.
