Waseda University, International Conference Center), Tokyo Japan, The proposed method is a simple and parameter-free second slope limiter for unstructured grids, which is designed for use after any existing (first) limiters to stabilize the solution at subsonic speeds. The present second limiting is such that the first limiter is activated near the shock and supersonic regions, while turned off elsewhere in a very smooth manner, by using only lccal Mach number information. Numerical results demonstrated that the proposed second limiter retains the formal second-order accuracy, and also that it dramatically improved convergence at subsoniuc speeds on unstructured grids.
