The present second limiting is such that the first limiter is activated near the shock and supersonic regions, while turned off elsewhere in a very smooth manner, by using only lccal Mach number information. Numerical results demonstrated that the proposed second limiter retains the formal second-order accuracy, and also that it dramatically improved convergence at subsoniuc speeds on unstructured grids.
