This paper presents the relations between engine operation parameters and the properties of the beams exhausted from a 5cm electronbombardment mercury ion engine. The process of the neutralization of the beam is considered. Space distributions of ion and electron current density of the beams were experimentally obtained using a Faraday cup and a flat plate probe. It is assured that the shapes of the ion current density distributions are intimately related to the perveance of the ion flow. This is deduced from the dimensional analysis of basic equations for ion flow. The space and floating potentials of the beam were measured using an emission probe and a flat plate. The space potential is determined mainly by the space charge limited condition of electron current between a neutralizer and the beam edge., 資料番号: NALTR0398000, レポート番号: NAL TR-398}, title = {5cm電子衝撃型水銀イオンエンジンの噴出ビームに関する実験的研究}, year = {1975} }
