A new method of determination of three principal axes of inertia of a simulated satellite which is supported on a spherical air bearing is described.One axis is determined by observation of the wobbling motion of a simulated spinning satellite.The remaining axes are determined by envelopes of Lissajous’ figures obtained from the pendulum oscillation of the satellite which has small mass appendages.The validity of this method is confirmed experimeny. |
