| 内容記述 | 母集団から抽出した標本を確率紙上に図示するためのプロット法には多くの提案がある。しかしながら，ほとんどの方法は順序統計量のまたはこれに対応する母集団の累積確率の代表値，すなわち平均値，中央値または再頻値，に選んでいる。このため，従来の方法は確率紙上で母集団の母数を推定する場合には必ずしも適当であるとは言えない。このため，正規分布における母数を推定するためのプロット法を新たに提案した。各種の方法を比較した結果，提案した方法は良い推定値を与えることが明らかとなった。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Various plotting methods have been proposed to show a sample of finite size drawn from a population on probability paper. Most of them provide cumulative probabilities each of which corresponds to a central tendency, i. E., the mean, median or mode, of the i-th order statistics in a sample of size n or of the cumulative probabilities corresponding to the i-th order statistics. Hence, they do not seem to be pertinent in the case where the population parameters are to be estimated by the use of probability paper. This paper proposes a new plotting method the purpose of which is to estimate the population mean and variance of the normal or the log-normal distribution. A comparison of the population parameters estimated by various plotting methods shows that the proposed plotting method produces excellent estimates. | |||||||||
