A modified rod-in-tube grain configuration was applied in an extended spherical rocket motor for getting a neutral burning and high propellant loading fraction. Ablative material with low emissivity and low ablative temperature was applied as an insulation liner because of its desirable properties for combustion extinction. Extinguishments occured at the end of the thrust pulses during the operation time of approximately 20 seconds when the control valve of the injectant was shut down.
