The objective of this study is to investigate the distribution properties of fatigue life and fatigue strength of notched graphite/epoxy composite specimens. Sharply notched specimens were made of an eight-ply (0/±45/90)s AS/3501 laminate. Their fatigue life distributions were obtained by carefully designed fatigue tests of four point plane bending under a constant temperature and humidity condition. The scatter and distribution shape of fatigue life and those of fatigue strength are discussed from these test results. |
