This tunnel can be operated over a wide pressure range to change the test Reynolds number. The main features of the operation and control of this tunnel are the application of the precharged starting procedure for establishing high Reynolds number flow and the adoption of the closed-loop Mach number control which acts effectively in a short running time. It was found that high Reynolds number tests can be safely conducted and the flow duration can be increased by applying the precharged starting procedure. And also the closed-loop Mach number control showed excellent Mach numer repeatability within an error of ±0.001 at each run.
