内容記述 | A rotary optical position transducer employing a pulse technique time-delay muliplexor has been studied during the development of a Fly-By-Light (FBL) for the aircraft control system, the aim of which is to offer inherent resistance to environments of electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and lightening. The conventional absolute-type optical digital transducer causes difficulty in the interface technique between the transducer and other devices such as a computer. The transducer system described in this paper, which consists of a rotary position transducer unit, a fiber-optic cable, a light source unit, and an electronics interface unit, can improve this interface technique. The rotary transducer unit is an electrically passive device that is connected through optical fibers to the light source unit and the electronics interface unit, and that has many advantages of fiber-optic techniques. This paper studies basic problems in the development of the rotary transducer system. In particular, a basis for optimizing illumination irradiance and photo-detector characteristics is given, and the intrinsic performance of the transducer is quantitatively examined. | |||||||||
