This air joint can be used in the wind tunnel testing of a powered model to supply high pressure air for engine simulation without the interference usually caused by stiffness of the air ducts. The air joint is composed of two eccentric floating pieces which are and can be rotated frictionless independently, so that the inner axis may translate within a plane region perpendicular to the axis of rotation. Thus the inner axis can be made to have four degrees of freedom in translation and rotation. Because a large displacement is allowed for the axis, difficulty in setting the model can be greatly reduced. The interference forces were measured with a simulated jet exhaust, and turned out to be negligibly small., 資料番号: NALTR0914000, レポート番号: NAL TR-914}, title = {Design and Test of a New Co-axial Air Joints}, year = {1986} }
