Stability analysis is described for the algorithm where the combination of the explicit second-difference and fourth-difference artificial dissipation terms are added to the right-hand side and the implicit second-difference dissipation term is added to the left-hand side so that the system of equations can result in block tri-diagonal equations instead of penta-diagonal equations. And the details of the formulation of the artificial dissipation models, including the boudary approximation of the artificial dissipation, are described. Numerical computations were made for transonic and low-speed flows, and the results show that the present formulation is appropriate.
