| 内容記述 | A low-turbulence calibration wind-tunnel for laser velocimeters was newly constructed at NAL in the spring of 1988. Detailed flow-quality measurements in this facility have been successively achieved to obtain a better understanding of the characteristics of facility disturbances and identification of their sources, using two hot-wire anemometers, a microphone and an accelerometer. Experimental results show that overall residual turbulence levels in free-stream are 0.04% and 0.06% at fan speeds of 600 RPM and 1200 RPM, respectively. Extensive analyses of turbulence fluctuations show that the free-stream velocity is unexpectedly contaminated by acoustic disturbances, which are regarded as non-vortical fluctuations generated by fan blades and vibratory resonance of a portion of the wind-tunnel. Such pressure disturbances acoustically propagate into the flow direction. Cross-correlation measurements between two distant anemometers indicate that the contamination level reaches 70% in the overall axial fluctuation energy at 600 RPM. It is estimated that the vortical turbulence level is about 0.022% at this speed. | |||||||||
