Grand Park Otaru Hotel), Otaru, Hokkaido Japan, The X-ray emission from the supernova remnant N23 are studied using the X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS) onboard Suzaku. Owing to superior energy resolution of the XIS, we obtained a H-like and He-like Kalpha emission line spectrum of Oxygen with unprecedentedly high quality. As a result, we identified a new thin thermal spectra component which can be represented with Non-Equilibrium Ionization model with a temperature approximately0.2 keV, as well as that with a temperature of approximately0.5 keV so far as known. This alters the estimate of the ionization timescale n(sub e)t from approximately 10(exp 11) cm(exp -3)s to approximately 10(exp 13)cm(exp -3)s, thereby identifying N23 as an old SNR, rather than a young SNR(approximately3800yr) as believed so far., Meeting sponsors: The University of Tokyo, The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, 資料番号: AA0064574049, レポート番号: JAXA-SP-09-008E}, pages = {126--127}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)}, title = {Suzaku Observation of the Supernova Remnant N23 in the Large Magellanic Cloud}, volume = {JAXA-SP-09-008E}, year = {2010} }
