The CAPAS utilizes the CATIA (Computer Aided Three dimensional Interactive Application) v4 to define an airplane configuration and the A502 panel method for aerodynamic analysis and the Thomas code for sonic-boom analysis. The CAPAS has a java-based GUI (Graphical User Interface) for designers to use it easily. It can be incorporated in optimization tools such as GA (Genetic Algorithm) or gradient-based one easily without its GUI parts. Conceptual design of a scaled low sonic-boom demonstrator is conducted by the CAPAS system and its low-boom characteristics are validated using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and wind-tunnel test. Both the front and rear part of the ground sonic-boom signature generated by the airplane can be reduced by a non-axisymmetrical low-drag/low-boom nose and the combination of volume and lift with its
