Its downward motion may be obstructed by buoyancy and travel distance may be reduced. The numerical simulation based on the finite volume method is performed assuming axisymmetry and incompressibility. Vertical movement is significantly obstructed by small density difference even below 0.1 percent. The ring is decelerated, its diameter is reduced and the circulation decreases with higher rate than uniform density. Due to the baroclinic generation of negative vorticity, the outer part of a ring is gradually peeled away and finally stops to descend. The buoyancy effect decreases relatively with increasing initial circulation., 資料番号: AA0063156008, レポート番号: JAXA-SP-06-013}, pages = {25--26}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)}, title = {周囲流体より軽い渦輪の鉛直挙動}, volume = {JAXA-SP-06-013}, year = {2007} }
