The acoustic feedback mechanism in a gap region was confirmed by frequency comparison of numerical results with theory. It was found that the gap tones propagate in two ways. One is acoustic waves which propagate directly from a sound source, and the other is acoustic waves which are reflected from a wall and refracted at the outer edge of a gap flow.
