In this article, the history of fusion research including the hydrogen bomb development is shown going back to the explanation of the principle of sun as an energy source by Helmholtz and the Nobel prize lecture for nuclear fusion by Kapitza, in which he gave this instead of his low temperature physics research, is shown including the relation to Landau.
