First, the real performances for the JAXA CFD codes on the CeNSS are shown, and the importance of the performance evaluation and its enhancement with tuning is pointed out. Currently, there is no effective indicator nor explicit strategy of the performance improvement on the CeNSS. Then, the proposal on the concept of effective peak performance is submitted. The peak performance comes from the number of ideal floating point operations, which suggest the potential improvement by the performance tuning. With this concept, the possible improvement can be estimated.
