The purpose of the rocket experiment is the investigation of electron density profile in mid-latitude D-region ionosphere during the nighttime. The Medium Frequency Receiver (MFR) was installed on the rocket to estimate the D-region electron density by the MF radio wave absorption method. The MFR measured the intensities of radio waves 238 kHz and 873 kHz transmitted from the ground stations. The electron density profile was estimated from absorption of these radio waves. It is found that there was a thin layer of high electron density of 2.4 x 10(exp 3) cm(exp -3) at the altitude of 89 km.
