This phenomenon is often discussed from the viewpoint how to eliminate or reduce the instability. But the discussion on the phenomenon itself has not yet been done enough. It is tried here to discuss the reason why the instability occurs, especially the machinery of growth of instability. The analysis gives an approximate formula that explains the growth of carbuncle instability in the case of Godunov method. Also given are some numerical experiments showing that the formula has a good coincidence with the growth of real carbuncle phenomenon in a computation for progressing planar shock wave., 資料番号: AA0047427027, レポート番号: JAXA-SP-03-002}, pages = {148--153}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)}, title = {連続モデルに由来しない離散モデルの不安定性:カーバンクル不安定性}, volume = {JAXA-SP-03-002}, year = {2004} }
