The phenomena of landing behavior are examined by experiments and the scaling law is derived. Theoretical result from rigorous derivation suggests that the scaling ratio should be one-sixth for the lunar probe. However we investigate the possibility to relax this condition based on the results obtained from impact experiments in a vacuum chamber with simulated lunar soil. The experimental results suggest that gravity forces do not dominate the landing dynamics, and the relaxed scaling law which eliminated gravity forces allows us freedom in the size of the model. We also compare the landing behaviors in the air and in the vacuum environment by the
