The project under consideration is designated as GEOTAIL-2. It is named after the GEOTAIL satellite. By using the plural satellites, the observation with high space resolution become realizable. The plasma physics observation focuses its attention on the elliptic orbit whose apogee distance reaches to twenty or thirty earth radii. On such orbits with large eccentricity, the relative positions of the satellites change largely as time goes on. So the design of the orbit that keeps the high space resolution is necessary. And in these missions, it is important to maintain the formation.
