The dc-dc converters should operate as efficiently as possible in order to deliver generated power from PV arrays to the loads. There are inevitable power losses in the converters due to switching losses in MOSFETs and transistors, recovery loss in diodes, etc. These losses per unit current tend to increase with input and output voltages, and switching frequency. Generally electrical characteristics, such as operating speed and on-resistance, of high-voltage semiconductor devices are worse than lower-voltage device, so that employment of lower-voltage devices is preferable in the viewpoint of efficiency. Moreover, high voltages of input and output of the converter lead to larger size of inductors because large value of inductance is required in order to keep ripple component in the inductor within the desired level.This paper proposes a PV system with a partial dc-dc converter which is partially connected to series-connected PV arrays so that the input and output voltages can be reduced compared with conventional converters. In the proposed system, the operating point of the PV array directory connected to the converter can be controlled by the duty cycle of the partial converter. On the other hand, the operating point of the rest PV array is simply determined by the load current.Experimental efficiency performance tests were conducted for both conventional and proposed PV system with the identical dc-dc converter. In spite of the identical converter was used for both systems, the proposed PV system showed the better efficiency performance. The proposed system is considered useful for applications where power conversion efficiency is more important than power utilization of the PV arrays., 形態: カラー図版あり, 形態: CD-ROM1枚, Physical characteristics: Original contains color illustrations, Note: One CD-ROM, 資料番号: AA0064737004}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究本部, Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)}, title = {パーシャルコンバータを用いたバス電圧制御方式と太陽電池の動作解析}, volume = {29}, year = {2010} }
