Various low frequency electromagnetic fields are emitted from those devices. It have been suspect for a long time that environmental exposure of Extremely Low Frequency ElectroMagnetic Field (ELF-EMF) emitted from the appliances may have harmful biological effects. ELF electromagnetic radiation haves received high interest due to growing concern on the harmful biological effects on both human and animal health. This study describes that ELF-MF (50 Hz) to the pregnant mice has teratogenic effects on the developing embryos. The magnetic field exposed dose of 2.0 mT in this experiment. Fetuses were continuously exposed with alternation magnetic field in utero from 7.5 to 18.5 days of pregnancy. Mice were autopsied on 18.5 days of pregnancy. Control mice received sham exposure with the same schedule as that of exposed. The mouse was sacrificed by overdose ether anesthesia and the fetuses were removed for morphological observation. The skeleton of fetuses was doubly stained with alcian blue and alizarin red S. The specimens were observed under a stereomicroscope. The malformed rates of fetuses of irradiation group increased more significantly than control group. The exposure group had anomalies including gastroschisis and curled tail., 資料番号: AA0063965019}, pages = {93--96}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究本部, Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA/ISAS)}, title = {ELF磁場照射がマウス胎子の発生におよぼす影響}, year = {2008} }
