It was found in JAXA-GCF project that the improvement of the maximum resolution of the protein crystal in microgravity environment would be enhanced if the solution was viscous. This effect was observed in the case of Hen Egg White Lysozyme. The main reason of this is related to the enhancement of the depletion zone formation of the impurity around the growing crystal.
