Performance of various instruments on-board a satellite could be degraded by the outgas from the satellite on orbit. In order to prevent such degradation, satellite baking in a vacuum chamber is often employed. It is essential to measure the outgassing rate accurately during the baking to evaluate the reduction of the outgas on orbit. The satellite baking of Astro-E2 was carried out for about 10 days in the spring of 2004. A TQCM was used to measure the outgassing rate, which is described in detail in this report. Also the nature of the outgas is discussed in comparison with the case of Astro-E. Large reduction of the expected outgassing rate of Astro-E2 on orbit was succeeded through the satellite baking.
