A digital sun-aspect sensor with a resolution angle of 0.5° has been deveoped by changing the length between a slit and a photodetector of the sun-aspect sensor of a low resolution and improving the optical system including the slit, the array of photodetectors and the electronic circuits. A solar simulator which can emit light with a small extention angle such as 0.5° also could be fabricated. The resolution angle of the new sun-aspect sensor was measured using sun light and the light from the solar simulator.
